The Geomorphometry society biannually awards best paper awards in two categories: (1) the best rated paper, and (2) the best PhD student presentation award. Both are given directly at the last day of conference. At each conference, registered participants rate the submitted papers by evaluating a combination of elements: (a) presentation, (b) novelty and (c) quality of data/materials used. The best paper award is given to the paper that receives the best average mark (a minimum of five votes is required), at the last day of the conference. The keynote and invited lecturers are by default excluded from the competition. The best PhD student presentation is awarded directly by the running chair and vice-chair.
BEST PAPER AWARDS SO FAR:

- Gorini, M.A.V.: "Physiographic Classification of the Ocean Floor: A Multi-Scale Geomorphometric Approach" (best PhD student presentation)
